Pushpagiri Medical Society was set up in order to spur the development of the institution and to enter into the field of education. In the year 1992, it was registered under the Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955 as a Charitable Society.

Pushpagiri Medical Society in the year 2002 entered into the higher education foray by establishing the first medical college, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre.
