Benefits of UHI

There are many ways in which digitization has been beneficial for society. Just like UPI, the Unified Health Interface launch is set to bring a welcome change. The benefits of Unified Health Interface are:

  • Better coordination between doctors and patients

How to register for UHI?

To avail of the benefits of Unified Health Interface, you have to create a Health ID under the NDHM. By creating a Health ID, which is now known as ABHA, you can have your health records available digitally. Health cards are then utilized for simple and hassle-free access to your records. These are also more transparent and secure in comparison to traditional medical cards.

Digital health cards can be easily accessed with the help of your Aadhaar card or mobile number. You need to sign in to your ABHA account to access the information. You also have the option to erase the medical records at any time.

Create your Health ID using the following steps:

  • Go to the official website of NDHM
  • Click on “Create your ABHA now.”
  • Select “Generate via Aadhaar”
  • Put in the details of your Aadhaar card number in the required section
  • You will receive an OTP on your linked mobile number
  • Enter that OTP in the available space
  • After entering the OTP, you will need to put your basic details
  • After filling out the information, you will receive your digital health ID card

Note that you can also register for the ABHA using your driving license or just your mobile number.
